The Reveal... Almost. Part 11!

Marinette almost jumped. 'Huh? Oh, yeah. Alya knows Marcus- that's the guy over there- apparently she's his cousin. And yeah.. we had a bit of spare time before we were planning to go to a movie.. so yeah. How did you find it?' 'I, uh, well, I was just kinda wandering around, when I realised I was near a marketplace.. I went to go explore, and then I found this place! It's really cool, I wonder why it doesn't get more customers. Although,' he added as an afterthought, 'we'll have to wait and see what the ice-cream tastes like.' 'Yeah, that's true,' Marinette agreed. 'Well, you two are about to find out!' Marcus said, presenting the sundae with a flourish. Please, take a seat!' Adrien, ever the gentleman, gestured for Marinette to sit down before he did. She chose a table in the corner, with a cushioned bench along the wall, and a window looking out over the Seine. Marinette claimed the window seat, while Adrie

A Date with a Cat, Part Four

Ladybug stopped on a rooftop, and waited for Chat Noir, hoping he would catch up before the camera-drones did. There- he was just on that rooftop. He leapt over to her.  'What's up, m'lady? Is something the matter?' A drone hovered silently behind him. Ladybug spotted it immediately. Too late to warn him. 'No, nothing wrong. We're almost there,' she said, gesturing to a small building about twenty metres away.  They leapt down from the rooftop and walked over to the small business. Ladybug's nerves were keyed to the highest pitch. Her yo-yo beeped. She checked it discreetly.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alya Cesaire "Not in position. Ten more minutes." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She frowned, then tapped out a quick reply. She was walking a little way behind Chat, hoping he wouldn't notice. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~                  Ladybug      "Got it. I'

The Reveal.. Almost. Part 10!

Marinette looked at Marcus, eyebrows raised. 'Alya?' she mouthed. He inclined his head slightly, and returned the look with an open smile. 'So, what'll it be? Cup, cone, or,' he lowered his voice knowingly, 'will it be a romantic sundae for two?' Adrien shrugged, leaving the answer up to Marinette, who decided to take the plunge. She looked over at Adrien, as if asking permission, and he nodded in encouragement. 'Sundae, please,' she said firmly, showing no sign of her tumultuous emotions. Behind Marinette's back, Adrien smiled, happily. Marcus caught his gaze. 'Good going, dude,' he mouthed. Then, turning his attention back to Marinette, he smiled. 'So, what flavour?' Marinette shrugged. 'Adrien, y-you can choose if you like,' she stammered, realising what she had just done. She had ordered a freakin' ROMANTIC SUNDAE to share with Adrien! She was gonna kill Alya.. if she survived this. Although, he was Chat Noi

A Date with a Cat, Part three

The next day, Marinette met Alya at the school.  'Have you worked anything out yet?' Alya asked. 'Having a supervillain's spies constantly watching you is a little.. stressful, to say the least. I keep noticing all these little drone-things hanging around my house.' 'Don't worry, it's under control,' Marinette promised. 'But, I need you to do something... are you free this afternoon?' That afternoon, Ladybug was pacing the ground next to the  Louvre Pyramid. 'Where is that cat?' she muttered. She could see Coccinoir out of the corner of her eye. Her nerves were tuned to the highest pitch. She couldn't even begin to list the things that might go wrong. In hindsight, she realised she probably should've just told her partner, but there was no changing that now. She decided she would tell Chat Noir as soon as she had the chance. She hoped Alya was in position. As she contemplated the possible disasters, and holes in her pla

The Reveal... Almost. Part Nine!

As Marinette and Alya got off the train, Marinette checked her phone. 'We still have half an hour before the movie starts- what do you wanna do? We could get ice-cream, maybe, or-' 'Mm, ice-cream.. let's go with that,' Alya smiled. 'I know a place...' As the best friends walked towards the ice-cream parlour, Marinette asked Alya a question. 'Hey, Alya?' 'Mm?' Alya gestured for her to continue. 'Do you ever think you'd like to be a superhero? Like Ladybug and Chat Noir?' Alya looked at Marinette. 'Are you kidding me? Of course! It would be sooo awesome! Why do you ask?' 'Oh, no reason.' Marinette smiled to herself. Alya was going to get the surprise of a lifetime.  'Are we nearly there?' Adrien asked his kwami. 'We've been walking for aaaaages...' In reality, they'd only been walking for about five minutes, not counting the train ride. But Adrien liked to tease his kwami, as

A Date With a Cat, Part Two

Marinette knocked on Alya's door. They had agreed to study together that night, and Marinette was already late. She knocked again, to no answer. She poked her head around the door. 'Alya?' She was shocked to see her friend just sitting on the floor. It wasn't like her at all. 'Alya, are you alright? What are you doing down there?' Alya looked up. 'Marinette, you have no idea how glad I am to see you.' As Alya filled Marinette in on what happened, she felt a little better. But she still didn't know what to do. 'Don't worry,' Marinette reassured her friend. 'I'll work this out. Just wait.'  'Okay. What are you gonna do?' 'Oh, just wait and see.' Chat Noir catapulted himself toward the meeting place using his stick, humming a tune under his breath. He'd had a pretty good day, but he was still looking forward to seeing Ladybug. It was always his highlight of the day. He landed on the rooftop, and

The Reveal.. Almost. Part Eight!

'Oh, hello sweetie.' Sabine looked up from her baking as Marinette descended the stairs.  'I didn't see you come in before! You must've slipped past me when I was in the back.' 'Uh, yeah,' Marinette agreed absent-mindedly. 'Where's Dad?' 'He's delivering the wedding cake. Are you alright, dear? You seem distracted..' 'I'm fine, don't worry!' Marinette brushed off her mother's concerns, breathing a sigh of relief. She'd avoided any awkward explanations, this time. 'Need any help?' Before Sabine could answer, Alya walked in the door. 'Hi Marinette! Oh, and hi Mrs Cheng.' 'Go and play with your friend, darling,' Sabine instructed Marinette. 'I'm just about done here, anyways.' 'Thanks Mum!' 'Thanks, Mrs Cheng!' The two girls climbed the stairs up to Marinette's room. 'So, how's it going?' Marinette asked. 'What brings the

A Date with a Cat

Hey guys! I'll be posting updates to this fanfic about once a fortnight. Don't worry, The Reveal... Almost will still be updating regularly. This'll be a four- or five-parter, I think. Alya hummed as she updated the Ladyblog, in the privacy of her room. After that show with Nadia, Side By Side, her views had been going crazy. Of course, there were some hateful comments, but she was a seasoned blogger and had learnt to ignore those. She could've laughed as she read one of them. "how dar u say dat about ladybug she and cat noir are obv. dateing ur stupid" She smiled, and set about composing a scathing reply, when her window creaked. She looked up to see a supervillain, creeping through her window! 'Ohmigoodne-' Alya started to say, but stopped as the villain leapt across the room and clamped a hand over her mouth, making her drop her phone on the table. 'Don't. Say. A word. Or else I will drop you out the window. Got it?'
